Can I sell my leased car before the lease ends?
Often, yes. CarDrop buys the car by paying off your lease with the leasing company. Your buyout quote includes whatever your lease contract requires for an early payoff.
Will my leasing company let CarDrop buy my car?
Many do, but some leasing companies limit or don’t allow buyouts by third-party dealers, and those rules change. We check your leasing company’s current policy before you make the trip.
What if my car is worth less than the buyout?
You can still sell. You pay the difference between our offer and your buyout the same day by cash, cashier’s check or money order, and CarDrop pays off the lease.
Do I avoid mileage and wear charges if I sell?
Because the lease is paid off instead of turned in, you typically skip the turn-in inspection and its charges for excess mileage and wear. Check your contract for any fees that apply to an early payoff.
What do I need to sell my leased car?
Your leasing company’s name and account number, a valid driver’s license for everyone on the lease, current registration, and all keys.
How is my lease equity paid?
CarDrop pays the leasing company the buyout amount. If our offer is more than the buyout, the difference is paid to you the same day.
