Selling several company vehicles?
If a business has multiple cars, trucks or vans to sell, use our dedicated fleet process to tell us about the group, where the vehicles are located and how you want them appraised.
Built for company vehicles, service vans, pickups, work trucks and mixed fleets.
CarDrop Gold gives your vehicle’s specification, condition and ownership story room in the conversation. Share the details and choose an in-store or mobile appraisal request.
A CarDrop Gold Specialist will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your vehicle and the next steps.
These are the kinds of questions sellers often have before they know whether they are ready to move forward.
Some situations require additional documentation or lender/lessor cooperation. This page is a starting point, not a promise that every vehicle or ownership situation can be completed the same way.
One CarDrop process
Different situations. The same personal approach.
Whichever path you choose, the goal is to make the next step obvious and keep a real person involved.

Where to start
Visit CarDrop—or bring CarDrop to you.
Choose the option that makes the most sense for your schedule and where the vehicle is located.
No. If you are unsure, start with the regular appraisal form. A CarDrop team member can understand the vehicle and your situation and help with the next step.
You can start an appraisal even if the vehicle has a loan. The payoff is an important part of the transaction, and the exact next steps depend on your lender, payoff amount and the vehicle.
Start by getting the vehicle appraised. Once you know the offer and your current payoff, the difference is easier to understand. CarDrop can explain the transaction steps that apply to your situation.
Mobile appraisals are available throughout South Florida. Use the Mobile Appraisals page or choose Mobile Appraisal inside the offer form to request one.
Use our dedicated Selling a Fleet page. It collects the approximate fleet size, vehicle mix, location and preferred appraisal path so a CarDrop Fleet Specialist can follow up as soon as possible.
Explore CarDrop Gold, our dedicated luxury and specialty vehicle path. Share the trim, options, condition, service history and optional photos, then choose Boynton Beach, Pompano Beach or a mobile appraisal request.
Photos are optional in the current appraisal form, but clear current photos can be especially helpful when the vehicle has damage, unusual equipment or you are requesting a mobile appraisal.
No appointment is necessary for Boynton Beach or Pompano Beach during normal business hours. Mobile appraisals and Jensen Beach are handled by arrangement.

COMMON SELLER SITUATION

💳
You can start the process even if the vehicle is not paid off.
A loan usually means there is a lien on the vehicle. The lien has to be satisfied before clear ownership can transfer, but you do not necessarily need to pay the loan off before getting a CarDrop appraisal.
What happens first
CarDrop appraises the vehicle based on the vehicle itself—not just the payoff amount.
If you want to sell, the current lender payoff becomes part of the transaction.
Your offer and the lender payoff are compared before paperwork is completed.
Helpful information to have
The lender or finance-company name.
A recent payoff quote if you already have one.
Your registration and title if you physically have it.
Photo ID and the names shown on the vehicle ownership documents.
If you have positive equity
If the CarDrop offer is higher than the payoff, the lien is satisfied first and the remaining equity is handled as part of the completed sale.
What can vary
Lenders differ on payoff expiration dates, electronic versus paper titles, release timing and the way dealer payoffs must be handled. Our team can walk through the lender-specific steps with you.
Good to know: Do not send banking passwords or sensitive login credentials through the appraisal form. We only need enough information to start the conversation.
↕️
Negative equity means the payoff is higher than the vehicle offer.
It is a math issue, not an automatic dead end. The difference has to be resolved so the lender can be paid in full and the lien can be released.
In this example, the $2,500 difference would need to be resolved as part of completing the sale.
What CarDrop looks at
The vehicle’s actual appraisal value.
Your lender’s current payoff.
The amount, if any, between those two numbers.
If there is a difference due
Our team will tell you the exact amount that needs to be resolved before the lien can be satisfied. Depending on the transaction, accepted methods can include options such as Zelle, Venmo or money order.
You do not need to know the number yet
If you are not sure whether you have negative equity, start with the appraisal. Once there is an offer and a current payoff, the situation becomes much clearer.
Why the payoff matters
Your account balance and your dealer payoff are not always identical. A current payoff from the lender is the number that matters when the transaction is being completed.
Best starting point: Get the vehicle appraised first. There is no need to guess at the equity position before you know the actual CarDrop offer.
📄
A lease is different from a normal auto loan.
The leasing company owns the vehicle, and its rules determine whether a third-party dealer can buy it directly. Those rules can differ by lessor and can change over time.
What to check
The name of the leasing company.
Whether a third-party dealer buyout is currently allowed.
The dealer payoff amount, if the lessor provides one.
Your lease maturity date and current mileage.
Customer buyout vs. dealer payoff
The amount shown to you as the lessee may not be the same amount quoted to a dealer. CarDrop needs the payoff that applies to the actual transaction.
If a third-party buyout is allowed
CarDrop can review the vehicle, the applicable payoff and the required lessor process before you decide whether to move forward.
If it is not allowed
You may need to work directly with the leasing company or use another permitted path before the vehicle can be sold to a third party. We can still help you understand where the obstacle is.
Important: Lease rules are controlled by the lessor. CarDrop can review the situation, but we cannot override a leasing company’s current buyout policy.
🗂️
The first question is who has legal authority to sell the vehicle.
Inherited, estate and trust vehicles can absolutely be appraised, but the paperwork depends on how the vehicle is titled and who is authorized to sign for the owner or estate.
Documents that may matter
The vehicle title or current registration.
Death certificate when an owner has passed away.
Letters of administration, letters testamentary or similar estate authority when applicable.
Trust documentation or certification when the vehicle is trust-owned.
Valid identification for the person signing.
Why the exact title matters
A vehicle titled jointly, individually, to a trust, or to an estate can require different documentation. We need to see the ownership setup before telling you exactly what will be required.
If there is still a lien
A lender payoff may have to be handled in addition to the estate or trust paperwork. That is why it helps to tell us about both issues at the beginning.
Best way to start
Submit the vehicle for appraisal and note that it is inherited, estate-owned or trust-owned. A CarDrop team member can then tell you what documentation to bring before you make an unnecessary trip.
Privacy note: Do not upload Social Security numbers, full financial-account information or other sensitive estate documents in the initial appraisal request. We can discuss required documents directly.
🔧
Damage or a warning light does not automatically stop an appraisal.
CarDrop appraises the vehicle in its current condition. The most useful thing you can do is be clear about what you know so the appraiser is looking at the right problem from the start.
Tell us about
Check-engine, ABS, airbag or other warning lights.
Mechanical problems, noises, leaks or drivability concerns.
Accident damage or previous repairs.
Paintwork, dents, scratches, broken glass or interior damage.
Missing keys, equipment or other known issues.
Photos are especially useful
The appraisal form allows optional photos. Clear images of the overall vehicle plus close-ups of visible damage can give the team better context before the in-person or mobile appraisal.
Do you need to repair it first?
Not necessarily. A repair can cost more than the value it adds. Let us see the vehicle as it sits before assuming you need to spend money to make it sellable.
If the vehicle is not safe to drive
Do not drive an unsafe vehicle just to reach a location. A mobile appraisal may be the more sensible starting point, depending on the vehicle and where it is located.
Best practice: Add the warning light, mechanical issue or visible damage to the notes in your appraisal request. Surprises slow down an appraisal; clear information speeds it up.
🏠
If getting the vehicle to us is inconvenient, start with CarDrop Mobile.
Mobile appraisals are designed for sellers who would rather have CarDrop come to the vehicle at home, work or another practical location within the service area.
What you tell us
The vehicle or VIN.
Mileage and general condition.
Your city or area.
Whether the preferred setting is home, work or another location.
Anything unusual about access, condition or drivability.
What happens next
A CarDrop team member reviews the request and coordinates the appraisal details. Availability can depend on the location, timing and vehicle.
Same appraisal conversation
The goal is still the same: inspect the actual vehicle, understand its condition and give you a clear next step without forcing you into a dealership-style process.
If you decide to sell
Paperwork, payoff questions and vehicle pickup can be discussed with the team based on the specific transaction and location.
Good fit for: busy schedules, vehicles that are difficult to bring in, work-site vehicles, or sellers who simply prefer the appraisal to come to them.
